Minden is the County seat of Douglas County and home of the Douglas High School and the Douglas Tigers.  One of the unique characteristics of Minden is that it was mapped out and defined before it was even built, leading to neatly laid out streets which would serve as a guide for the growth of the town.  The historic downtown corridor is home to a number of Carson Valley staple events throughout the year including the summer concert series at Minden Park, Tuesday night Farmers Market.  Numerous car shows and craft shows are held on Esmeralda Street where the CVIC Hall is also located and hosts concerts and a variety of other events.  Both the Carson Valley Days Parade (3^rd weekend of June) and the Parade of Lights (1^st Saturday in December) march down County Road and by Minden Park, it is a favorite spot to watch by kids adults alike.  For more information visit Town of Minden.
